Welcome to Our Visiting ECU Students!

We are thrilled to welcome twelve second-year Bachelor of Education students from Edith Cowan University (ECU) in Perth, Western Australia! They will be joining us at AIS for a three-week teaching practicum, starting this Monday.

Each student will be paired with one of our Primary Homeroom Teachers. During their time here, they will work closely with their mentor teacher—observing classes, planning activities, and teaching lessons. It's a wonderful opportunity for them to gain practical experience and for us to share our vibrant learning community.

This visit has been over 14 months in the making! We've been working closely with Will Turner, an Education Lecturer from ECU, and his team to bring this partnership to life. We are also proud that this placement is supported by the Australian Government through the New Colombo Plan.

To help them fully immerse in their new environment, the students will also be taking Bahasa Indonesia lessons to build a deeper appreciation for Indonesian culture.

Please join us in making them feel welcome if you see them around campus - their ID cards will be on blue lanyards.

 

 

Date for Notification of Withdrawal of Students

Parents are reminded that they will need to notify the school if their children won't be returning to AIS in 2026 by Friday, 7 November 2025. Parents who notify the school in writing before this date will be eligible for the one-time Refundable Notice Deposit. Please send your notification in writing to admissions@ais-indonesia.com This does not apply to our Year 12 students.

Happy Eyes Casting Call

Joseph Taylor, a film director at Nusa Film in Bali has reached out with details of a casting call for the international feature film “Happy Eyes”, which commences production in Indonesia next year. There are several roles, but their initial focus is on finding the lead character, a teenage girl, 12-14 years old.

This is a major undertaking and involves the fictional relationship between the girl and a juvenile ape. The director and producers would love to find a family that already lives in Indonesia. Happy Eyes is the fourth film in a series of animal adventures that this team has worked on.
