ANZAC Day Dawn Service

The Australian Independent School Indonesia Community were well represented at this morning’s Dawn Service at Menteng Pulo War Cemetery with over a dozen families attending. The service was very moving and Aiysya, our Primary Captain and Bo in Year 10 laid a wreath at the memorial on behalf of the AIS Community

ANZAC Day Assembly

AIS hosted an ANZAC Day Assembly this morning which allowed our wider school community to learn more about this very important day for all Australians and New Zealanders. Our guest speaker was Lieutenant Commander William Liang, who is a commissioned officer of the Royal Australian Navy posted here in Jakarta. LC Liang is Australia's representative at the Indonesian Navy’s Command and Staff course.

Dylan from Year 12 read the ANZAC Requiem, Tahlia from Year 10 read Flanders Field, Emma from Year 11 read the Reading for Those Buried on Foreign Soil and Violet from Year 11 read the Ode of Remembrance.

Term 3 Enrolment Intentions

This is a request that any families who know they’ll be leaving AIS at the end of the term notify our Admissions Department. This information is important for us as we are processing new enrolments for Term 3 and begin to discuss staffing for 2026.

As per our Admissions Policy, Refundable Notice Deposit will only be given when written notification is to received by the Finance Department one calendar month (30 days) prior

to the last day of attendance. As Term 2 ends on Friday 20th June, the school will require written notice no later than Tuesday 20th May.

High School Sports

Good luck to our Senior Boys Basketball Team who are playing in the final of the SPH School even this afternoon. Good luck to both our Junior Girls & Boys Soccer Teams who are playing in the finals tomorrow at SPH LV & Global Jaya

New Playground Open

It’s been great to see the students enjoying playing on our new playground equipment situated on the small field near the canteen. I’ve enjoyed watching students from Year 1 right up to Year 12 enjoying the new equipment.

I'm so happy to see the JT staff using fresh ingredients every day as they prepare snacks and meals for our students. The ANZAC biscuits and meat pies served today were a real treat too.

Voting in the Australian Federal Election - Reminder

A reminder that the Australian Embassy Jakarta will be open for voting for the Australian Federal Election from 10:00am - 4:00pm on 23rd - 25th April and 28th April to 2nd May. The Australian Embassy Jakarta will not be open for in-person voting on Election Day, Saturday 3 May, 2025. Appointments are not required to vote, however you will be required to bring photo identification such as a driver's license or passport to enter the Embassy.
