Indonesian Independence Day Celebration

Thank you very much to our organising teachers - Ibu Ani, Pak Yohan, Ibu Nada, Ibu Fani, Ibu Agnes for planning such a marvelous celebration to recognise Indonesia's 80th year of Independence. Thank you to the P&F and parents for organising the great food for the students and to the Yayasan Board for organising lunch for our staff and visiting parents.

I was very proud of our Year 9 students who officiated at today’s Flag Ceremony - they certainly did a marvelous job. I enjoyed moving around the school and seeing the students participating in a range of activities including traditional Indonesian games, flash mob and Ondel-ondel decorations. 

Primary School Book Week

AIS will be celebrating Book Week next week with a range of activities planned for our students. A highlight of the week will be next Friday’s Book Week Character Parade where students, staff and parents are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite book character.

New Books

Our Teacher Librarian, Ms Lorraine, has created an eye-catching display of our latest award-winning books in the main foyer. Many of these titles are sourced from Australia, with selections guided by the Children’s Book Council of Australia Book of the Year winners, honours, and shortlists.

We invite parents and students to stop by before or after school to explore the new arrivals. This is a great opportunity to browse these quality titles before they are returned to the library and added to our regular circulation.

  

​​Taipans Cup

Over the past few months, a group of Year 11 and 12 students have been working hard to organise next week’s Taipan’s Cup as part of their Creativity, Activity & Service (CAS) learning program.

The Taipan’s Cup is a multi-day, multi-sport tournament for high school teams. This year, we’re excited to welcome competitors from AIS Jakarta, other Jakarta-based high schools, and even visiting teams from AIS Bali.

Clothes Drive 

We would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who contributed to our recent Clothes Drive for Yayasan Gemilang Indonesia, the local shelter for underprivileged children and teenagers.

Your generosity has helped fill the shelter’s donation shelves, allowing them to turn these items into much-needed funds to sustain their programs, including providing informal education for teenagers who work as trash pickers. Your kindness has given them not only resources but also the encouragement to keep moving forward.

Thank you for turning compassion into action and for showing the true spirit of our school community. Together, we have made a meaningful difference. Thank you to Ibu Atiek, our High School Learning Support Teacher for leading this initiative
