AIS Advantage

Why AIS

World's Best Curriculum Practice

AIS provides an internationally recognised best practice curriculum. The new Australian National Curriculum is taught from preschool-age to Year 10 students. In the senior years, students complete the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma program, International Baccalaureate (IB) Courses, School Based courses, or a Hybrid of both courses. AIS graduates have gone on to study at prestigious universities around the world.

International Certification

AIS Indonesia is accredited through the Council of International Schools (CIS), having successfully achieved accreditation status in October 2015. Successful CIS accreditation means that AIS has met detailed criteria which rate the school to the highest possible standards and, as such, joined an elite group of international schools around the world. We are very proud to hold CIS accreditation as it highlights the quality and international nature of education provision at AIS Indonesia and reassures parents that our school has attained independent quality assurance.

Passionate Learning Environment

Through individualised attention and guidance, AIS provides strong academic support to meet each child’s interests and needs. Average class sizes are 18-24 students taught by a fully qualified Teacher and local Teaching Assistant, in addition to a Language Support Assistant and/or a Learning Support Assistant where needed.

AIS is fully committed to “inquiry based” teaching. This approach includes conceptualising, reasoning, teamwork, problem-solving, and a range of other essential 21st century skills.

Passion for other specific interest areas are encouraged through a wide array of extracurricular and community service activities that further challenge students to develop leisure activities and community service.

Inclusivity at Its Finest

The AIS student community is multicultural, consisting of children from over 30 nationalities. Having a diverse community has enabled AIS students to foster strong cultural and global competencies and further supports our mission to graduate respectful, knowledgeable, and empathetic citizens.

AIS has become a second home to our families. We welcome everyone regardless of nationality, race, religion, language, or learning ability.

Individual Pathways

While we are proud of our strong academic results, we also understand there’s not only one way for success, and the pathway to personal fulfilment will look different for each student. Developing the whole student means looking beyond the traditional measures of success to also supporting and celebrating achievements of creativity, innovation, aspiration, community, curiosity, and courage.

Personalised Learning

AIS’s personalised approach to learning enables students to discover their passions and purpose in life. Our innovative curriculum allows students to tap into their interests and strengths and promote student agency, allowing each learner to own their own pathways to success. Student agency implies that students take on the role of the agents of their own learning while teachers serve as the facilitators. Meaningful and timely feedback advances student learning and encourages individuals to be responsible for their own learning. Our teachers are equipped with the resources and knowledge to meet each student’s needs and ensure all students are engaged in their learning.

Deep Learning

AIS students engage in long collaborative projects in particular areas of interest, deepening their understanding and strengthening their engagement. Skills and knowledge across a number of different disciplines and subject areas are woven together, developing higher-order thinking skills and linking learning with the world beyond school.

Embracing Individuality and Diversity

AIS is proudly an inclusive community and diversity matters to us. We respect, celebrate and nurture individual, cultural and societal diversity. We recognise that individuals are unique and positively acknowledge and affirm the equality and cohesion of all humankind in all its dimensions of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, culture and physical ability. At AIS, we adopt a whole-school approach to providing an environment of mutual respect, fairness, equity and justice. We seek to provide an environment that is safe, supportive and free from discrimination so that students physical, emotional and intellectual needs can be nurtured and developed.

Connected Community

AIS build and strengthen community connections that are mutually beneficial and promote a sense of belonging. Our community is a rich resource for students and our strong partnerships enhance our learning programs and operations.

The contribution of our community enables the development and success of our students and underpins our belief in having a shared responsibility for creating tomorrow’s thinkers, leaders and change makers.
