Groundbreaking for AIS Campus at Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN)

Australian Independent School (AIS) Indonesia officially commenced construction of the Australian Independent School Nusantara in the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN) with a groundbreaking ceremony on September 25, 2024.

The Team from AIS were joined for the ground breaking ceremony by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, attending ministers, members of the IKN Authority and other invited guests and dignitaries. This groundbreaking symbolizes not just the expansion of AIS but also AIS commitment to becoming a part of Indonesia's dynamic new capital and its ambitious plan for the Golden Generation 2045. 

In his remarks, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Joko Widodo said, "The establishment of international educational institutions like the Australian Independent School (AIS) Nusantara in IKN reflects the government's dedication to offering top-tier facilities, particularly in education”. 

AIS‘s master development project will include a new AIS campus, vocational and special education centres plus an Australian university. AIS’s vision is to create lifelong learners—confident, capable, and socially conscious global citizens who will make meaningful contributions wherever they go. Our mission is to achieve this through inclusive, high-quality learning experiences tailored to individual needs. AIS believes that true learning happens in an atmosphere of respect, empathy, and diversity, and it is our duty to foster this environment.
