Beyond Classroom

Exploring Opportunities Beyond the Classroom

A rich and vibrant extra-curricular program opens the doors to developing strong friendships, learning new skills and discovering unique interests.

Life at AIS is so much more than just what happens inside the classroom. To prepare young people for a successful future, the wide range of extra-curricular activities at AIS, offers the opportunity for students to cultivate vital life skills such as teamwork, leadership, resilience, confidence building, time management and perseverance.

Sport at AIS means much more than winning. It’s a place where students learn the joy and benefits of being active and the power of being part of a team. The Physical Education and Outdoor Education Programs are compulsory in primary and elementary years, building teamwork, leadership, and friendships. Students try new sports, and extend themselves with outdoor activities, uncovering their potential and teaching resilience.

We believe that learning beyond the classroom is important to student development and growth.

Spending extended periods in the outdoors helps students develop greater resilience, independence, and self-confidence. They learn how to respect the natural environment and interact with it responsibly. They face age-appropriate physical and social challenges that encourage personal growth through collaboration and problem solving.

In addition to the sporting opportunities, students are also able to take part in a variety of activities that focus on developing students' creative and service experiences.

These opportunities support our Senior students to enhance their CAS (Creative, Active and Service) profile for their core IBDP. Our primary students enhance their CAS profile through extra-curricular activities.
