HIGH SCHOOL CURRICULUM

From Year 7 to Year 10, AIS High School is based on the Australian Curriculum.

The Australian Curriculum provides a broad, balanced educational foundation for further study. Assessment is integrated into the learning program and is designed to help students understand where they are and what they need to do to make progress in each subject.

Throughout the High School students bring their own devices (laptops or tablets) to school, we work to ensure that students are confident and creative in their use of technology, using it appropriately to support and enhance their learning. Creative use of technology in the classroom allows students to work more collaboratively, developing their critical thinking and communication skills. Technology can also foster greater independence as students with learning support needs can access the curriculum and augment their understanding.

More on each subject

With the exception of Advanced Indonesian, all lessons are taught in English. We have a well-developed English as an Additional Language (EAL) program to allow students with little or no English to improve their proficiency and work towards joining their classmates in all subjects.

Students are taught by engaging and enthusiastic subject specialist teachers and are given the opportunity to extend and enrich their learning through a comprehensive program of after school Co-Curricular Activities (CCA).
