Studying light and sound includes explorations of the functioning of eyes and ears. The Year 7s dissected cows’ eyes to observe their structure and work out how light passes through the cornea and is focused by the lens on the retina. This was a hands-on powerful learning event that will never be forgotten by the students because it is high interest and has a big “yuck factor”!
