Swimming
Since the fourth term 2008, the Kindergarten class of levels 3 and 4 at AIS, has been participating in a new program called, “Water Play”. This activity takes place every Wednesday and it is an exciting time for the kids to splash and get wet in the water.
This program is designed for the little kids who do not have much experience or are not really confident being in the water. Water play is the best way for them to gain this experience so they will be confident to go into the water when they have structured swimming lessons.
In these sessions, the students will not be forced to go to the deeper pool; instead the activities are quite informal. Focus is placed on free play, exploration and games.
At the same time, AIS Extra Curricular Program offers formal “Swimming Lessons” for the Kindergarten 3 and 4 children. This takes place every Tuesday afternoon.
This allows a natural progression for our little kids to gain more experience and confidence in the water. They learn how to swim, use a kickboard, float and improve their swimming technique. This session is supervised by a qualified coach Mr Salaman, a class teacher and a teacher assistant.
Here are some pictures that we would like to share with you so you can see for yourself how happy our kids are when they have water play and swimming lessons.
