Sun Bears Picnic
At the school’s second anniversary celebrations, on the 27th August 2009, the Head of School
(Mr Dean Parkin) made the announcement that the school will be expanding to years 7 & 8 in 2010.
He also reflected on the success of the school and its ongoing progress.
The celebrations took place at a “Sun Bears’ Picnic” at an environmental education centre.
Students, parents, families and friends were involved in a series of learning activities and physical challenges related to sun bears and the environment.
During the lunch break a huge birthday cake was cut by the AIS student leaders and Mr Adam Flinn (Founding Director). Having been involved with the school since its inception he reflected on the academic progress of all students including his two children and the sense of pride a parent has when they can see measured academic gains. He was particularly pleased that the children love going to school and that all parents have great trust in the teaching staff.
