Further upgrades to security procedures and infrastructure.
Since the hotel bombings in Jakarta on Friday 17 July we have been reviewing our security arrangements and infrastructure. A number of security issues have been identified as a result of meetings held with parent representatives, security advisors , School Board members and internal meetings between school managers and the Executive.
As a result of these meetings we will be upgrading our electronic surveillance systems, tightening inspection procedures and making further improvements to our security infrastructure. External security consultants have previously expressed satisfaction with arrangements already in place and these new measures provide extra reassurance that our school is taking all possible steps to provide a safe and secure environment.
I would also urge all parents, students and visitors to the school to cooperate fully with our security personnel. While I understand that the wearing of ID badges, bag checks and metal detecting scans involves some inconvenience these procedures have been put in place for everyone’s protection.
