AIS welcomes Bruce Ferres as new Principal of AIS
AIS is pleased to announce the appointment of Bruce Ferres as the new Principal of AIS. Mr Ferres takes over the role from Penny Robertson, AIS' founding Principal who retired in December 2007 after being at the helm of AIS for the last eleven years. Mrs Robertson will assume the role of Chairperson of the AIS Board. Mr Ferres joined the school as Coordinating Head of School in July 2007.
Mr Ferres comes to AIS with an impressive background in international educational leadership. He had held roles such as Kindergarten to Year 9 Principal in Jordan, Educational Consultant in England as well as Secondary Director and Senior Dean in Brunei. He holds a Masters degree in Educational Management (UK), a Bachelor of Education (Australia) and a Graduate Diploma of Educational Administration (Australia). He is also trained in International Baccalaureate (IB) and Middle Years Program (MYP).
Mr Ferres’ teaching experiences include High School Science teacher and university lecturer. He is also the author of two Science text books, published through Oxford University Press and Heinemann Educational. A keen swimmer, his personal interests include sports coaching and scuba diving.
