Harmony Day

“A House of Harmony’, “Harmony Hearts,” and “Harmony Heals” were some of the messages shared by students during the Harmony Day celebration on April 25 at AIS Kemang. An Australian government initiative which began in 1999, Harmony Day celebrates cultural diversity, racial tolerance and individuality. It is also a celebration of Australia's success as a diverse society united by a common set of values. In AIS Kemang this year, a very special spirited day was enjoyed by the whole school.
During that week, all classes worked collaboratively in the art room with Ms Janie to produce class posters celebrating different messages of harmony. On Friday, students and staff all came together at Assembly, dressed in brilliant orange - the colour of Harmony - to celebrate Harmony Day. It was a spectacular sight to behold.
A special surprise at the conclusion of Assembly was to celebrate the opening of the new Playground, a project of our Parents & Friends Association. Our youngest and oldest students Jessica and Bernadett cut the ribbon and everyone enjoyed “orange kisses”. What a terrific day it was.
