The primary role of the School Board is one of charting the long-term future of the school and maintaining oversight of school operations. The responsibility and management of day-to-day operations rests with the Principal and Heads of School.
The School Board in each AIS school fulfils its role by:
- developing the strategic plan;
- approving the annual recurrent budget;
- making recommendations concerning the school development plan and longer term major capital expenditure;
- setting and reviewing policies (principles developed to guide decisions and actions made by the school);
- establishing standing committees to inform the deliberations of the School Board; and
- raising funds additional to the collection of school fees for special projects and new facilities needed by the school.
For security purposes, access to School Board activities and meeting minutes is password-protected. If you are a parent or a caregiver of a current AIS student, please contact the reception of the respective campus to receive the access information.
