Pre-requisites

Available Positions

Occupational Therapist (Primary Campus at Kemang, Jakarta)

Role

The Occupational Therapist participates in The Australian International School Learning Support Process and programs and/or provides direct instruction for students with disabilities under the direction of the Head of Learning Support.

The job of the Occupational Therapist is for the purposes of identifying students with motor, perceptual and sensory difficulties; planning and implementing appropriate treatment to minimize impact on student success; recommending treatment plans and providing information to parents and school staff. This position commences asap.

  • Indonesian National;
  • Excellent English communications skills (written & verbal);
  • Minimum of D3 graduate with a major in Occupational Therapy from recognized university;
  • Experienced in handling children in primary school level is preferable;

Faculty Leader Secondary Science
Physics/General Science Teacher (Pejaten Campus, Jakarta)

Role

Reporting to the Head of Campus, you will teach an inclusive program of General Science to a selection of classes from Year 7 to year 10 and Physics to Years 11 & 12. Our curriculum is based on AusVELS and the new Australian Curriculum (AC) in Years 7-10 and the ACT Board of Senior Secondary Studies (BSSS) in Years 11 & 12. In conjunction with this, you will assist with the Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) program.

Our school is currently applying for IB candidate school status and will introduce the IB Diploma progam for senior students commencing in January 2015, so recent IB training and experience will be an advantage.

The successful candidate will also take on the role of Faculty Leader for Science and be part of the School Leadership Team.

This position commences July 29, 2013.

Role

LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT

At AIS we employ Teaching Assistants who take on mainly Classroom responsibilities or who are assigned to provide Student Support for an individual child.

Classroom Role

  • Manage a small learning group as directed by the class teacher.
  • Engage students in activities through talk and encouragement.
  • Communicate any observations or concerns you have about any student’s learning or behaviour with the class teacher and/or case manager.
  • Assist the class teacher in making or preparing resources for the classroom.
  • Assist the teacher with setting up activities and preparing work for the next day.
  • Assist the teacher with organising and setting up activities throughout the day.
  • Assist students in developing independence with cleaning up and taking care of their own belongings. Prompt them to do things for themselves i.e. packing their bag, sharpening their pencils.
For Teaching Assistants assigned to a particular child with special needs, the following Support Service responsibilities take precedence over the Classroom responsibilities but do not replace them.

Student Support Role
  • Participate in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for your assigned student and attend meetings with parents as arranged by the case manager.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher, specialists, Head of School in the creation and implementation of Action Plans and/or Behavioural Management Programs for your assigned student.
  • Work with the student during learning activities and incorporate individual learning goals where possible.
  • Escort the student to and from sessions scheduled with support staff and specialists.
  • Help create materials and resources for your student.
Criteria
  • Bachelor Degree majoring in any field or Japanese Language from reputable university;
  • Excellent English and Japanese communications skills (written & verbal);
  • Indonesian nationality;
  • Computer and Internet literate;
  • Good administrative skills;
