Pejaten Students get a taste of real life Journalism

Students from the Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 English Support experienced real life Jorunalism while visiting TVRI, an Indonesian television station.  The students met with one of the senior English new's anchors Mr Dhoni Kusmanhadji who was gracious enough to show us around the studio.  They saw sets that had been assembled for Indonesian soap operas better known as sinetron, sat in on a few different sets for daytime television and had the fortune to even being on the set as the twelve O'Clock news was read.  The students were in complete awe of the newsreaders and you could hear a pin drop within the studio itself.

The day didn't end there.  The students had busily prepared their own news reports and were fortunate enough to read them out on the TVRI news reporting set.  How better to teach students about journalism than giving them the experience and the tools to do it.  We are sure after this experience there are a few budding journalists in amongst these gifted reporters.
