I was not a foundation teacher at AIS Bali but I started in August 2000 in what was
still early days. I was teaching on the Sunshine Coast but came to Bali after an interview with Diana Saunders. Not only did I start working, but my then partner
(now wife!) Joice also got a job in the office. We were all set for our Bali adventure.
So began almost five years working at AIS and living on the frenetic but fantastic Island of Bali. My best memories are of the great friendships with staff, particularly Dean and Carl; the moments when Year 12 students received offers from universities; science experiments with Made and the kids; Indonesian Independence Day feasts with families and friends of the school; the production of Annie Junior in 2003 and especially the way that all the staff, students and families pulled together after the terrible events on October 12 2002. Some good memories, some bad, but all unforgettable.
I'm truly happy that AIS Bali has continued to grow and is celebrating its 10th Anniversary in good shape, and send my best to all my friends and colleagues from my time there."
