I am delighted to have the opportunity to be invited to the 10 th anniversary. The
two years that I spent in Bali, when the school was just an embryo of what is now
AIS Bali, was an amazing time that will stay with me forever.
It brought with it many challenges but most of all, I will remember Bali for the wonderful people who helped to form the school and the students who were so keen
to have an International School that they could call their own.
The wonderful teaching and administration staff who, despi
te limited resources, ensured that the students were getting the best education possible and that everything ran smoothly. Nor can I forget Pak Rick and his crew who were always available to instantly transform the school during the holiday break!
We started with eight students and grew to 80 by the time I reluctantly returned to Australia. Both of my daughters graduated from AIS Bali among the first batch of
Year 12 graduates. Erin and Lisa and I have many wonderful memories, such as the musicals and the Indonesian Day celebrations, which will stay with us forever.
I count myself very lucky to have had the experience of being there at the beginning of this School.
I wish AIS Bali and everyone who has been part of the school, all the very best and congratulations on this 10th anniversary.
